[Case 02]

Eesti Loto x Tommy Cash

Eesti Loto

Eesti Loto — Rebrand Teasers ft. Tommy Cash

Curiosity‑first micro‑clips that provoke the click—espresso reveal, fan smile, and a CG lotto ball—delivered fast with subtle beauty cleanup and seamless backdrop extensions.

[Project Overview]

Campaign: Rebrand Announcement
Brief: Create three hero clips, one teaser, and two social cut‑downs that are eye‑catching and intentionally raise questions, pushing viewers to follow a link to discover the new design.

Production Company: Wedia
Creative collaborators: Featuring Tommy Cash · Directed by Alina Pyazok
My role: Post‑Production Producer — scope/budget alignment, VFX planning, on‑set/post coordination, finishing, QC & delivery.
Constraints: Very fast timeline and lean budget with several invisible‑but‑essential VFX tasks (beauty cleanup, full‑CG asset integration, backdrop extensions).
Hero moments:

  • Clip 1: Tommy sips an espresso macchiato, chokes, spits out a lotto ball.

  • Clip 2: Tommy beside a fan with the Eesti Loto logo; he looks at it, then into camera and smiles.

  • Clip 3: Tommy sits opposite a large lotto ball at a table — a nod to the Marina Abramović “opposite‑seating” motif.

  • Teaser: A hand (tie painted on two fingers) walks in and kicks a lotto ball like a football.

[Problem Statement]

Deliver curiosity‑driven, conversation‑starting spots that don’t explain the message, while still feeling premium and brand‑true — and do it fast.
Challenges included:

  • Beauty cleanup for a touring artist’s close‑ups (eye bags, minor blemishes) that must remain natural.

  • A full‑CG lotto ball that has to sit convincingly in Clip 3.

  • Yellow backdrop extensions (initial set was too small) that needed to feel seamless and on‑brand.

[Process]

VFX approach alignment

Vendor consult on gags: I worked directly with the VFX house to break down each moment (espresso spit reveal, fan smile beat, chair scene) and choose the lightest reliable techniques for schedule and budget.

On‑set data plan: We agreed I’d capture HDRI panoramas on the day, plus reference passes (grey/chrome spheres, lens notes, measurements) so the CG elements would sit naturally.

Interaction design for the chair scene: We explored how the CG ball should “occupy” the chair (legs vs no‑legs options, contact patch, shadows/occlusion, subtle seat deformation) and locked the approach pre‑shoot to avoid post thrash.

Prebuild & lookdev

CG hero asset early: Built the CG lotto ball ahead of time to lock scale, shader, and reflection behavior before plates existed.

Beauty‑cleanup plan: Tested tracking/paint so eye‑bag/pimple cleanup read as natural, not plastic.

Backdrop strategy: Proved a 2D/3D hybrid extension of the yellow sweep with color pipeline notes to keep brand yellow consistent.

On‑set data capture & supervision

HDRIs & plates (by me): I captured high‑resolution HDRIs for each setup, plus clean plates and lighting references for the CG ball and backdrop extensions.

Lens/measurement discipline: Logged focal lengths, distances, and exposure notes to keep CG interaction and grain believable.

Expectation management: Kept director/agency aligned in the moment on what would be invisible vs. stylized in the finals.

Post (edit, VFX, finishing)

Parallel track: Editorial, VFX, and finishing ran in parallel to hit the tight timeline.

Beauty + CG + extensions: Subtle face cleanup on close‑ups; CG lotto ball comped into Clip 3 using on‑set HDRIs; yellow backdrop extensions to fill frame.

Mastering & versions: Final grade and mix, plus social cut‑downs (vertical/1:1) and archive‑ready masters, QC’d and delivered.

[Outcome]

Curiosity achieved: Each piece feels self‑contained yet unresolved, inviting the click‑through to the rebrand page.
Premium look within limits: Natural‑looking beauty retouch, a believable CG ball, and seamless backdrop continuity.
On time, on budget: Parallel post and tight milestone decisions kept ambition and schedule in balance.
