[Case 01]

Why Drive, When You Can Ride?

Bolt

Riding Is The New Driving - Testimonial Videos

[Project Overview]

Production Company: Wedia.

Campaign: Riding Is The New Driving — “Why drive, when you can ride?”
Brief: Produce real‑people testimonial videos across Europe about switching from driving to riding (taxi, e‑scooters, e‑bikes, car‑sharing).
Scope: 7 countries · 20 participants · 20 core testimonials
My role: Post‑Production Producer — budget & offer, team build, pipeline design, day‑to‑day communication, finishing, QC & delivery.

[Problem Statement]

Create a consistent, on‑brand testimonial series across multiple countries and languages, without spinning up seven different local pipelines. We needed to:

  • Keep look, tone, and structure consistent while filming in different markets.

  • Move fast: start cutting while still on the road.

  • Navigate multi‑language interviews and translation nuances, then deliver both platform‑specific versions (Instagram) and archive‑ready masters—all on time and on budget.

Process

Calibrate & Standardize (in Estonia)

Lock the template: We spent extra time on the Estonian market first to nail the interview structure, pacing, graphics, and endcards.

One‑team consistency: Kept a single traveling crew from Estonia so framing, lighting, and interview rhythm felt unified.

Language plan: Prepared a multilingual interview guide and translation workflow to avoid “apples vs oranges” answers later.

Capture & Same‑Day Selects (on the road)

Native‑language interviews: Real customers interviewed in their own language for authentic detail.

Local buy‑in fast: After each shoot day, we sat down with the local Bolt marketing team to pick the strongest answers while context was fresh.

Organized ingest: Media backed up and tagged; selects documented so editorial could start immediately.

Overnight Proxies & Remote Offline

Proxies same day: We created proxy files nightly and shipped them to our editor in Tallinn, who began cutting straight away.

Live online edit: When the first cut was ready, we ran real‑time edit sessions with the series director, applying notes live.

Market review ready: By the end of each session we had a reviewable cut for the local Bolt team.

Finishing, Versioning & Delivery

Color & sound, in parallel: The same colorist and mix engineer finished every video to lock a consistent tone across markets. While Country A was in grade/mix, Country B was already in edit.

Instagram adaptations: Each story was adapted for IG (format/ratio/captions), keeping key beats tight for short attention spans.

Masters & archive: Delivered uncompressed landscape masters for repurposing, plus platform‑ready files and a tidy handover.

Outcome

Consistency at scale: 7 markets with one traveling team = a coherent series regardless of location or language.
Speed without chaos: Same‑day proxies + remote edit meant review cuts by the end of each online session—no waiting for the roadshow to end.
Minimal revision loops: After the Estonian “template” phase, subsequent markets needed only one round of edits, mostly translation polish.

Key Learnings

Template early, save time later

Investing in a home‑market pilot (structure, tone, graphics) dramatically reduces changes downstream.

Run online editing sessions

Replacing asynchronous note rounds with live online edit sessions was faster and ensured total mutual understanding across all parties.
